Star numbers

I have noticed that my image of M20 has an enormous number of stars,
compared to the images posted by experienced imagers of the same object in the Deep Sky forum. Do these people suppress some of the stars, or is there another reason?

Hi Ray, do you remember the film vrs CCD thread? The reasons are similar. It's an illusion from the type of processing done on each pic. With your M20, it's stretched very hard so that many of the stars saturate to maximum making it look like there are more when in fact there are actually fewer. You can check this by looking deep into each pic.
