PHD and Orion SSAG

Hi. Im having trouble with my SSAG communicating with the G11.
I just bought the SSAG second hand and it didnt come with the cable to connect to the mount (RJ something)
I bought a 6 pin cable, can someone with a SSAG tell me if its meant to be a crossover cable please?
I will rule that out before I do too much more. Its as though the SSAG isnt communicating with the mount ata ll, even tho PHD runs through CAL and everything.
And what mount setting should I use? GPUSB just says fail.

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

A few questions before answers.
What mount are you using?
Can you control the mount from you computer already or do you need to set that up as well?
As for the ST4 guiding you dont need guide in that way, in fact it's much easier to pulse guide and it's one less cable you need to worry about. You'll need to plug your laptop into the mount to control it.
Just plug the usb cable into the camera and laptop then open PHD click on the camera tab. This should bring up the equipment profile.
Select and select "Starshoot Auto guider" for the camera and "Ascom Telescope Chooser" for the mount.

You will need open the options of the ascom telescope chooser and select the driver for your mount.

You will need make sure you ascom platform installed and configured for the mount though.

We need a bit more info to get you up and running I think.

Thanks
Sandy

The guide camera is very similar to the QHY5...
You definitely need to check the St-4 cable which should run between the camera and the guide port on the mount.
You're average 6pin plug is NBG...check out the wiring against the Shoestring page:
