M & M's

Fairly cloudy last night but I was busting to try the new Baader MKIII coma corrector out on my 6" F5 Newtonian. I am really pleased with the correction. The field is corrected well from edge to edge. Even the center of the field looks sharper. Works like magic!

Had to keep exposures short to shoot between gaps in the clouds, so all are 30 seconds unguided. M4 is a stack of 72 frames at ISO 3200, M7 51 frames at ISO 3200 and M22 51 frames at ISO 1600. I like the colours with the M22 shot. Looks like they get a bit washed out at high ISO of M4 and M7.

Higher res at Astrobin.

Love the shot of M4! What were your processing tools? Any darks/flats?

Thanks Barry and Stefan.

Barry, I used 10 darks, no flats. Stacked in DSS and processed in Photoshop. Shooted with a Pentax K-x.

The M4 and the M7 shots are nice. I'd be very happy with results like those.
