Canon 5D Mark III + Astrograph. Reflection Nebula in Corona Australis

An example of full frame OSC imaging on a F/3,9 Astrograph.
(highres on Astrobin: http://www.astrobin.com/full/90416/0/ )

Imaged with a Canon 5D Mark III (Unmodified) and a Orion 8" Astrograph F/3,9, Celestron Cgem Dx. SSAG & PHD guiding
Read more about the acquisition details on my blog:

Also how shooting flats greatly improved the vignetting. I shot my flats the day after using an LCD display indoors. Here's a very easy and helpful article from Cory Schmitz on how you can do them http://astroshake.com/2014/02/howto-...rophotography/

Thanks for the comments! I must admit, results were better than I expected, especially after I applied flats to the lights!

That's impressive full frame performance on an affordable astrograph.

Has the image on your site been cropped at all or is that full frame? Are you using the original corrector as well?

Nice work. Thanks for posting.

Phil

Thanks. The image online and what's posted here has not been cropped. The flat frames corrected the vignetting that would be expected from the full frame sensor. So this is the total field shot with the 8" and the 5D sensor.
I used the new Baader MPCC MkIII with the Astrograph. (And will update that info to the site too - thanks)
