Photoshop arrows and labels

Hi

I have an early Version 6.0 Photoshop. Is it possible to draw and arrow with a label on an image using this version?

Pathetic - I have to reply to my own question! However, I decided that adding arrows and text to images in my old Photoshop Ver 6. was not possible but that I can do it easily in Microsoft Powerpoint.

That sounds like a pretty fundamental feature and I'd be surprised if you can't do it with PS6.

Powerpoint is not going to give you a good final image.

Arrow heads are an add on option to the line tool in Photoshop(PS). Pretty sure they've been in PS since the beginning.

Line tool is hidden in the shapes tool set in the tool box. Type the letter U and the shapes tool will be activated. When you start PS, the rectangle tool is usually visible. Hover the mouse over the toolbox and click the mouse. Drag down to the line tool.

Options are usually at the top of the screen in most versions. you can put arrowheads at the start or end of the line or both if you want.

I also have often wanted to put an arrow pointing to something on a picture in photoshop but have never got around to finding out if it can be done.

After reading Joe's post I decided to try it.

I have the "free" version of photoshop CS2 ver 9

In the toolbox, the panel that is usually on the left when starting there is a section half way down with an arrow,T, Pen nib and a rectangle. Click on the rectangle and a list of options will appear. Click the line and the line will be highlighted on the tool bar instead of the rectangle. This will also bring up the shape toolbar at the top of the screen.

Pressing "u" will do the same thing, initiating the shape bar. Where you can select the line button

Click on the little arrow head just to the right of the highlighted line button to get the options. Here you can select an arrow head at either end with some other options (experiment). Enter the weight to get the thickness of the line and the color required.

Draw the line on your picture from the object you want to reference to where you want to place the caption (Text?)

Thanks all for your advice. Got it now. I was clicking on the arrow
tool and getting the message "no options...". However, pressing U whilst on the box gave me the line and arrow symbols. Easy when you know how!
