Eq 8 pe

After running two attempts at a PE curve, i get the same curve.

Not sure if i should ignore the 2nd worm harmonic at 99sec or the 3rd harmonic at 66sec
in any event it's a big improvement on my previous mount.

Any advise knowledge based opinions appreciated

Ray

Hi Ray, It would be interesting to see the curves again after running through the ppec routine (which actually gets stored on the mount's driver board) to see what is left over.

I did a quick ppec when the mount arrived and the result has been so good that I've never bothered to go back and do it properly!

Eq8 pe

Yes i agree, as far as i can see, the corrected pe would be in the 3 arc sec range.
i might carry out such a test in due course

have you done any pe recording yourself?

Ray

I did, and it looked pretty much the same as posted over on Houghy's original thread.

I have Hyperstar set up on my SCT, so to properly refine and measure the PEC I need to take it off so that I can get some decent focal length. I'll have a go once I have nothing better to do, the seeing is great and I can be bothered. Its hard to get those three to align
