47 Tuc (alt/az No Guiding)

47 Tucana NGC 104

My focus was a little off again on this one but I think 275 short subs works ok.

275 x 15sec subs at iso 1600 with 50 Darks and 50 Bias
12" Meade LX200 f6.3 (alt/az setup with No guiding)
Sony Nex-3 DSLR Camera
Processed with DSS,Startools,Gimp

Fine work Wayne. Your application of bias and dark at 50 frames is evident. I think the alt/as also provides a default dither. Well done.

Wayne, your piccies should be in the deep sky section, not here. They're really good pics The Nex 3 and 5 cameras are amazing. I've seen pics taken with them before and for such short subs the pics you get are amazing. It's like you've spent hours taking 10 min subs, when in actual fact you've only used 15-30 sec subs.

Did you have any troubles with your camera overheating? Did you use a T mount and adapter tube for your camera. Which ones did you use?

Thanks Laurie, Jo, Rex, Rowland, Carl and MortonH

Yes Carl, I am starting to get better at this but I think I am still very much a beginner, I am still learning as I go, the camera does not overheat with short subs unless the ambient temp at night is over 25 degrees, I use a standard t mount with a canon eos adapter on it then a canon eos to sony nex adapter to the camera.
