Scorpius Wide field with IC 4628

G’day

Wasn’t sure what to image the other night so pointed at Scorpius and was able to get this picture.

24x128 second subs at ISO 800.

Camera was Panasonic GX1 (Micro 4/3) with Nikon 85mm F1.8 lens at F4.

In camera dark frame subtraction was ON.

Taken on my homemade horse shoe mount unguided.

Any tips appreciated

Thanks for looking.

My tip would be to keep taking pictures like that. Looks great!

Very nice, Jo. Hadn't thought to use astrometry.net for creating overlays, only for platesolving before stacking.

If you've got 23GB to spare (a bit less if you already have CygWin installed) you can run astrometry.net on your own computer. It might not run as fast as nova.astrometry.net but it saves all the uploads.

If you've got a 64 bit Linux and 64GB ram and compile your own it would probably run about as fast as nova.astrometry.net.
