NGC 3293 & 3324 in Carina.

Hi,

Decided to centre on NGC 3293 for this image, just for something different. The stars are so bright in this region it's difficult to keep them under control when processing.

Equipment.

8" Newtonian astrograph f/4. on HEQ pro 5 mount. Orion mini guider.

Unmodded canon 1100D, baader coma corrector type 3.

14 x 9 minute subs, iso 800, stacked in DSS, processed in PS7.

Cheers,

Justin.

Certainly one of the easier targets.

Cheers,

Justin

Hi,

Just slight adjustment to the image, less magneta and blue more red.
Always seem to put too much magneta first off.

Cheers,

Justin.

Another spectacular region. Perhaps slowing the integration time with a lower ISO will keep the stars in check.

Thanks Rowland!

Yes I think your right, I had to back off quite a lot with levels in PS.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Ross!

Might process it again though, colours are not quite right!

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks again Elio!

I'm lucky, I live in the country with dark skies. I have a observatory setup with everything ready to go. So if there's any clear sky it only takes 30 minutes to be up and imaging.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice image. I didn't try this region, yet.
When shooting M 42 the trapezium has the same problem. To solve this I took two sets of photos. With high ISO to nebula and low ISO to trapezium. I used layers and mask to insert trapezium inside. (http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...ilayer_1k4.jpg)

Should this procedure work in this region, too ?
