Another Full Moon, another jet transit...

Hi all,

Since noticing that the flight path out of Brisbane airport is near the location of moonrises, I can't resist having a go at capturing jets crossing the disk of the Moon. Here's one from last night. There's also an animation here:

The seeing was terrible, as you can see in the animation! Still, it was nice to catch another one.

Cheers,
Stephen

Nice shootin'. They are addictive aren't they, and it seems the more you nab, the more you want. Transit greed, love it

Plane spotting taken to the limits. Where did you set up?

I agree, the seeing was poor. It was impossible to test the performance of the Primary School's new telescope. I will have try again tonight.

I was putting a new 8" dob through its paces last night and watched a plane come close to a transit. I pointed the scope at the Moon trying to ambush it but the jet was about 2 degrees too low.
