The Sun in Ha 18/08/13

I imaged the sun this morning 9:28am NZST while it was still low in the sky but the atmosphere was steady.

Active region AR1818 erupted on the 17th Aug producing a long duration M3 class flare, its remnants can still be seen on the right-hand side of the image.

There is also a nice prominence and filaprom present so hope that you Aussie's can follow it.

Double stacked Coronado SM90 Etalons+BF30+DMK51, 1200 frames best 300 used from a single avi file.

Well done to the All Blacks last night !

Here is a composite of two images, one of the solar disc and the other of the prominences.

Nice work George. No chance here today, clouds The last image is a lot cleaner but the first 2 show the proms better. If the composite is a new technique for you, you will get to show them a LOT better yet

John, I'm still learning on how to stack the prominences and the solar disk together, I just need a lot of practice.
