Cockroaches !

Well its my day off today , 6 weeks of night shifts and not back until Tuesday night , nice .

Anyway , I went into JB hifi for a look and walked out $75 poorer , got some nice CD's on sale .
Sat down to a cold VB and put on 'Bob Seger' ultimate hits , 30 seconds into track 1 , 'Old time Rock and Roll' , my lovely CDX660 Yamaha CD player stopped ?? .
out with Bob , in with 'Nick Cave and the bad seeds' , best off , 10 seconds , then stop ??
Ok some things up here for sure , un plug remove to the kitchen sink and off with the cover . .
plug in and watch the mechanisim go thru its motions , pick up CD , tells me the length , push play ,,, 15 seconds ,, stop !!!.

Push eject and take out CD and look again ,,, WHAT ??? ,
A blardy dead Cockroach lying across the optical pick up , cool .
Vacuum him up , give the lense a clean courtesy of Bintels lense cleaning solution ( thanks Bintel) , all is good , Nick rocked , and Bob is now singing up a storm .
The Clash are next , a real test of the repair .
Blardy ROACHES !!! even dead they are a pain !!!!

Hope you enjoyed this , saved me a repair bill for sure . .
Brian.

Thanks Col , yes I wonder how many people over the yeas have been ripped off by repairers claiming that this or that needed replacing at this $$$$ value , only to find a few cock roaches have been electrocuted in the process .

I think there is one or two in my now 3 year old Acer E/machine ??? ,,,,
Brian.
