Variegated Wren

Went out to check some remote cameras on top of the Blackbutt Range today,I had not used my 400 mm L lens for a while,so took it along.

Got four frames of a Variegated Wren, one good one-the rest deleted on the spot, this frame 1/125,iso 800,F5.6.

These have some more deep blue colours than regular Superb Blue Wren, even a touch of royal blue/purple along sides.Beautiful, but very small.

Hope these are of interest, thanks for looking.

Gorgeous Chris. They're tiny, aren't they?!

I was watching some Superb Fair Wrens this morning at Adcock Park on the Central Coast. The boys (of course) are not in their breeding colours this time of year, looking forward to seeing the brilliant blues later in the year.
