Hi,
After the components of Alpha Centauri, the next closest star is Barnard's Star, a red dwarf 5.98 light years away in Ophiuchus, spectral type M3.5V. Visual magnitude is 9.6. I tracked it down with my 15cm Dob and thought I would capture an image with my DSLR. The star is located near a group of stars called Taurus Poniatovii that form a V shape resembling the Hyades.
If you get a chance worthwhile ticking it off on your observing list.
