FS: 14" GO-TO Dob in Perth

Hi All,

Expecting a baby in the near future and may need to sell my Telescope

It's a 14" Skywatcher Dobsonian with full GO-TO.

I also have accessories such as 13mm Ethos eyepiece, full Cats-Eye Collimation system, camera adapter..

I'm basically just looking for expressions of interest or reasonable offers ( Perth only) to see if it's worth while selling my gear, either separately or all together. I'd hate to sell it, but if there's an interested buyer in Perth and the offer is tempting I'll certainly consider it.

It's a sad day, but the limited use it receives (less with the baby on the way) means it's probably the right decision for now.

Thanks guys,
Steve

Hi Steve. Congrats on the bub. I'm expecting too and I'm looking for a telescope!

Is this the collapsible dob and does it have the synscan? How old is it?

I'd prefer you state your price to avoid potential buyers possibly wasting your time.

Cheers!
Al

Congrats on the baby!
I have a 10 week old, my first, and surprisingly I get a lot more telescope time than before. Not going out on weekends any more , doing the night shift leaves plenty of free time.
Just a thought!

Thanks for the congrats guys and also congrats to you Alan, are you expecting a boy or girl?

You're right Chris, but I think for the time being I might be better off with a smaller telescope that I'm more likely to whip out and set up on a whim. The Big 14" dob tends to stay put unless I can spend an hour or more using it.

Alan, it probably is fair to ask for a price up front . It has synscan / go-to and is the collapsible type skywatcher Dob. If someone wants to go all out and purchase the extra equipment including the 13mm Ethos, the 24mm Panoptic + the Cats Eye Collimating gear I would sell the lot for $3400 which I think is a pretty good price.
The telscope by itself... It cost me over $4k but I know that online buyers can get it much cheaper. I guess $2500 would be a fair price for the scope.

First and only price drop: $2350 for the 14" Dob with full Go-To and tracking, plus the extra equipment needed such as a 12v battery and connecting cables (you don't get this with a new scope).
This scope has hardly been used, it lives inside (in the living room) and is well maintained.

I'm advertising a motorbike at the same time due to some large baby expenses coming up in the next few weeks so whichever sells first, will mean that the other is off the market.

Hi Rob, sorry I just saw your PM. The motorbike actually sold this past weekend so I've taken the scope off the market, sorry for not removing the ad sooner.
Good luck with your search - just out of curiosity who / what is the GP that you're conducting lessons for?
