Stellarvue M1 deluxe alt-az mount

For sale in excellent condition is a Stellarvue M1 deluxe mount with extension column and heavy duty surveyor's tripod. Selling due to upgrade.

Apart from a few small unavoidable scratches, it is in great cosmetic condition and is in perfect working order. Motion is very smooth and is easily adjustable if you want more/less friction. The tilt in clamp accepts standard Vixen-style dovetails.

The tripod is aluminium but is vastly superior to the standard tripods you get with cheaper EQ mounts. It is rated to handle Stellarvue scopes up to their 115mm triplet. Scope shown in photos is my SV80ED.

The mount is perfect for scopes up to 90mm and will work with scopes up to 102mm (maybe not the longer f/9 models). I can track easily at 150x for planetary viewing with no vibrations.

The tripod has a 5/8"-11 bolt which attaches to the bottom of the extension column. The top of the column and the bottom of the M1 head are 3/8"-16.

The 3/8"-16 thread on the head means it can be attached to most standard camera tripods. On occasions where space was at a premium (e.g. family vacation trips) I have used the head on a Manfrotto 055 tripod with a William Optics Megrez 72. This combination works very well. The last photo shows the M1 head with my SV80ED on a Manfrotto 028 tripod (set to child-friendly height).

Sale is *pickup only* due to the length of the tripod (too long for Australia Post).

Brand new this setup would cost $500. Asking $280 ono.

Thanks

Morton

Still for sale. Tripod is too long for Australia Post so local buyers only. Sorry.
