hello again members
the same night while i was waiting for m83 to clear my roof?
which one is the supernova please?
23 lights
120 seconds
iso 1000
f6.3
much smaller this one and much fainter.... but still easily spotted on the screen of the 60da

oh yes and cropped in PS
i am so glad i am much more careful with the focus now as it obviously makes so much difference

Hi Pat, you forgot to name the galaxy so I was a bit confused at first as to what Supernova you where referring too.
The galaxy is NGC5643.
The Supernova in your image is the blue/white star to the right of the galaxy, in open space.

Deep images don't show any arms out that far either.
There is no finite end to a galaxies stars,the galaxy matter just peters out till it becomes part of the inter galactic medium.
