Thanks guys, I've always found subs fascinating.
I would love the chance to see and maybe look through one of the big US SSBNs though the ultimate for me would be to see a Russian Akula, or Typhoon as it's known in the west, I just think they are the most elegant and powerful looking subs ever made.

One of the more confusing naming conventions .... the Russian Project 941 "Akula" ballistic-missile sub, that we know better as Typhoon, should not be confused with the Russian Project 971 "Shchuka" attack sub that we know better as Akula.

Personally, I think the Typhoon is butt ugly. My favourite looking sub would be the USN 688-class attack subs.

O-boats, particularly after the SWUP upgrade, were reasonably aesthetic, IMHO.
