Orion reworked

I did a rework on Orion I took in November by adding darks and flats.

specs:
Saxon ED100 on HEQ5
Modded Canon 1100D
30x60sec @ ISO800

1st image rework
2nd image original

The flats seemed have removed most of the dust bunnies but there is still one black bit at the top of Orion.

Beautiful job Paula - a very good image indeed. Calibration makes a huge difference. Not sure what can be done about the spot. Did you take the flats at a later date?

Great job Paul! There is a very noticeable improvement in the reworked version.

Hi Paula,

IMHO, it looks like the rework actually has more noise than the original, possibly as a result of the dark subtraction. Colours in the nebula itself are better but there's a green tinge in the dark areas,
What did you use for dark subtraction? Did you dither?
I'm not sure about APT, but Backyard eos can dither between frames using phd (enable the server in phd) and that makes a big difference in reducing noise.
Cheers
Edit: you've tamed the core very well in the rework. I'd suggest adjusting the green a bit in just the shadows using levels or curves.
