OK, confess!!!

Who bought a new telescope in SE QLD today? Man up!

ALL day, looking like going to be a perfect night, and now, high level cirrus and altostratus. I spent the better part of an hour refining the True South marks and aligning the mount, all now likely for NADA unless something blows this crap away.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRR. It's been I think 10 days now... I JUST WANT TO IMAGE! Gimme 4 hours, PLEASE!

We are such a hopeful lot. After receiving my eyepiece yesterday, I actually went outside, in the hope I might get a gap in the clouds to try it out And we have had really wild weather!

Surprisingly, there actually was a big gap but it wasn't dark enough

3rd thread in the past two days regarding people who have screwed up the weather for others... (Peter, you are one of those people ... )

With the Christmas holidays approaching, I foresee doom and gloom on the horizon...

Well, since the weather is only a little bad, and my purchases have been small (just accessories, albeit $400 of them), it may have been me ...

The SE QLD forecast says it was meant to be clear today and over the coming weekend. Looks like tonight is a lost cause. Fingers crossed for this weekend.

I heard recently on the radio that Perth can expect wetter than normal conditions through until about February, due to warming in the Indian Ocean.

Oh well, look on the bright side, at least I won't have to water my trees.

Moderators should ban these type of posts, the weather is the weather and buying astro gear and whining about makes absolutely no difference

Likewise you can often guarantee that when imaging the time of the month that it is clear, will be a full moon

These type of whining posts can be annoying , they just like the ones that are often posted about Melbourne.

Just accept it's one of those facts of life, weather will be bad when you want it not to be and visa versa

You know a Murphy

REALLY!? Only 10 days? Mate, try freaking 13 MONTHS without dark skies!!! Then complain to me.

Mate, I wish it was only 10 bloody days! I managed 4 dark sky hours back in April, but nothing since freaking October last year at the IIS Astro Camp.

Some one have better bought a 100" scope, or I'm really gonna be annoyed...:tasdevil :

Lewis,

I just grabbed a few pictures of the Moon rising over the ranges, with an FS-60CB and a 1.4x teleconverter on my 5D Mark III. Eaten to death by mosquitos.

Well, the sky has cleared and the moon and stars are out.

Some may say that this means astro purchases have no effect on the weather. But what it really shows is that whining about the problem helps!

I got a few shotss as the moon and Jupiter were rising - the moon is a lovely orange, and Jupiter VERY prominent. I'll work on them as time permits.

Sorry if the original post caused offence to anyone.
