MTO 1000 Maksutov Cassegrain with solar filter- $260 including shipping in Oz

MTO 1000 Maksutov Cassegrain (f10) OTA - $260 including shipping in Oz.

This was for sale in midd 2011 as per: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...tov+Cassegrain The bent, cross threaded screw mentioned in the ad has been repaired with the scope ready to take a camera adaptor or a lens. I hope to post up to date photos of the optics and rear tonight.

One of the nicer shots I took through it can be found at http://www.uow.edu.au/~mork/IMG_2760.JPG

This "Russian Ton" is on the market again as I have "upgraded" to a C5.

Thanks for looking,
Pieter

Hi Brian,

Yes it does. The site http://www.telescope-service.com/mak...O.html#MTO1000 has lots of "good guts" on it.

Regards,
Pieter

Query re function as guider scope

Is there a dove tail attachment that would allow the MTO to be attached to a Celestron SCT for guiding CCD cameras?
Also, is there a standard T thread or eyepiece holder?
Thanks

Hi David,

It has a 1/4 inch mount set in a firm 42mm base on it's rear assembly.

The scope is fitted with a T thread. You would need an eyepiece holder to fit a lens.

Regards,
Pieter
