Running Man Nebula

Running Man Nebula

Finally got some time to shoot the running man nebula and decided to have him vertical so the nephews/nieces didn't have to think too much about the name. Another hour or two of subs will be needed to get rid of a lot of the grain and probably some HA to get some red into it but that's for another night. There's a hint of it there but only just. Thinking about doing a hi-res luminance with my QHY9M and scaling this one down for the colour. Have to chew on that a bit.
Cheers
Stephen

The Running Man , like the Flame Nebula, don't get the attention they deserve do they. If they were anywhere else in the sky, away from their more famous partners, they would be choice targets don't you think?

Laurie, Ross

Thanks for the encouragement.

I think your right. It's probably one of the prettiest blue nebs up there. When I went online to check if there really was a smudge above his head and a ring around the star above his right(?) arm there weren't many really good shots at all. Definitely overlooked!

Cheers

The running man is one of those targets I use to assess the transparency of a night. If I can glimpse the dark lanes, I know it is a cracker of a night. More visual observers should be looking for this one as it is really nice when it pops into view.
