Baileys beads from Palm Cove (now with large crop)

MY wife and I had a discussion this morning about how each eclipse had a C in it (Ceduna, China and now Cairns) and how each had cloud just prior to totaly but when you say the letter C this is also the pronouncing the word See. Next eclipse we are going to a desert so I don't have to deal with the tension of the cloud.

Cloud right up to the last 4 minutes but in the end it was a lovely corona. No high cloud as in china. I did however find that seeing was not that great due to the cloud and low elevation.

That said, I am happy with the images overall and this is just one image of what will constitute my final image which I will process this week.

I found that Fred Espaneks guide tables did not really work. Luckily I shot every shutter stop from 2 seconds to 1/250 of a second. 4 of the long exposures were far too over blown, but I managed to get 6 solar radii after that to the proms.

edit: now with large crop.

A beautiful image and what great luck that the clouds parted just at the right moment. Priceless.

Greg.
