Cool Eclipse from Rockhampton

Perfect view this morning of the eclipse from Rockhampton. There was a tiny bit of low lying cloud around 5:30am but this cleared up 10 minutes before the eclipse started.

The early view was hindered from my place, so I drove to a school oval nearby and sat in the car, staring directly at the sun through my binos. Good ol' "cut a whole in the bino covers and stick solar filter on them" trick has served me well for years.

Eclipse started around 5:52am, max around 6:51am. Saw lots of sun spots. 6 very dark, and 4-6 softer spots.

Great start to the morning!
