4179 Toutatis making closest approach

12th of December, so.... today now lol, 4179 Toutatis is making it's closest approach.

I tried to view it now, got the exact location but can't see it. I guess it's not bright enough. It was brighter in May (I think), according to wikipedia.

Guess my 8" just doesn't cut it
Can anyone else see it?

There is going to be a live stream on Slooh if you want to see it.

Not to mention the other little space rock gracing our skies ATM
From Spaceweather.com:
"Newly-discovered asteroid 2012 XE54 is flying through the Earth-Moon system today approximately 230 thousand km (0.6 LD) from Earth. The space rock is about 36 meters wide, a little smaller than the Tunguska impactor that leveled 800 square miles of Siberian forest in 1908."

Doh! I missed the Slooh event lol
Woke up at the right time but went back to sleep!
Looks like there's a third one though.

Reckon we'd be able to see 2012 XE54 through a scope gaa_ian?
Ah, looks like it's too late for that one anyway.
