Clive Dunn (lance corporal Jones) has died at 92.

He was such a part of a lot of UK comedy programs in the middle
part of the last century.
RIP Clive.

Wow, that's a good innings.

I'm surprised he was only 92 - I'd have thought those Dad's Army guys were about 120 by now!

Permission to speak!

I think Dunn was in his mid-40's when he first played played Jonesy. They are still great for a spin, and "The Deadly Attachment" is one of the great British sitcom episodes. "Don't tell him, Pike!"

If you read the article ,he nearly always played parts older than he really was
I don't think there can be more than a couple of the original cast living though.
Cheers

Sad but a good innings. For some reason the episode which sticks in my mind was when he was demonstrating how to use a wire cheese slicer as a garotte. He was always so gung-ho.

"They don't like it up em" and "Don't panic"

Two classic lines.

RIP Clive and thanks for all the laughs

Exactly what came to my mind!

Remember the various usages of his butcher's van.

Well done, Clive.

Yep, the butchers van was a classic old van.

Definitely a collectors item now I'd reckon.
