I'm just back from my first clear night in ages - and I've had the scope out.
I drove out to my usual dark site, but it's now all locked up since the quarry has been made operational again

. So I ended up driving further out the road and found part of the old road behind a stockpile of quarried fill. IT was a little be obscured to the east by trees and not far off the road, but there was only about 6 cars all night.
I had a go at some piggy back shots with the Oly E-510. The first set of them I think will be flops - the dew hit it really quick

. Once i realised a had a dew problem, I hope the rest will be OK.
Then I got the DMK out for first light. No favourable planets about but I had a play with it on M42. I was impressed with splitting the 5th star of the trap at f/6.3... the 6th was just lost in the glare though. Its a different beast to drive to the ToiUcam - took me a while to work out how to save an AVI!

I had no probs taking single frames. A whole new learning curve!
Well I'm off to bed. I'll process some pics tomorrow!
