Jupiter + Io 5th Nov. 2012

Seeing wasn't very good so I experimented with my camera settings. This one with 60% gamma rather than 100% but had to stretch the levels to get the final bright enough. Took a heap more with my standard gamma setting & this particular image just blasted them out of the water on all accounts, including detail..Very interesting

Nice result Asi & great animation, reckon in this field of imaging in particular, fine tuning of capture regimes for different conditions along with processing is just one continuous R & D project for determining what works & what doesn't and where gains can be made.

Trevor

Great image and animation Asimov. You're always going to get a useful result when you can see Io in front of the cloud tops.
