Hey all
I'm am very VERY reluctantly selling my GSO RC8 - I bought this baby earlier this year, but it never even saw first light. I got all the bells and whistles to go with it, but due to an unforeseen need to move into a smaller place in the next few weeks, I need to get rid of a lot of stuff, and she's unfortunately taking up a lot of space.
I got it from Andrews this year (so it's the updated version without the reflection issues). I've still got the original shipping box, so this will be handy if it needs to be sent interstate (see photos). I also got a Moonlite focuser built for it with the necessary GSO flange, and also the more expensive tri-knob with shaft lock focuser to it. I also have an unopened Kendrick secondary mirror heater to go with it (specially designed for this scope).
The only time this scope went outside was when I originally got it to see what kind of counterweights I'd be needing, which was for about 15 minutes. Since then it has (along with all the accessories) been boxed away. I never got around to collimating it - not sure it even needs it, but it was one of things stopping me from using it this winter (fear of doing it).
I wish I could say it's taken brilliant photos of the sky, but it hasn't had the opportunity and the new rental place won't facilitate the space (no pun intended) for this great scope.
I'm selling it with the following:
OTA: $800 (with original GSO focuser, focuser extensions)
SOLD
Moonlite focuser: $350
SOLD
Kendrick heater: $40
SOLD
Together I will sell everything for $1,100 + postage. Selling it as a package is preferred, but willing to sell separately if needed. Based on my experience with selling my HEQ5 earlier in the year to a fellow IIS user, I will use
E-Go couriers to send it interstate from Brisbane. Otherwise local pick up in Brissy is more than welcome.
If you have any questions, require other photos, or anything else just let me know.
Edit: I also have the
Astrophysics CCDT67 .67x Reducer
(SOLD) for this as well which also never got used. I will sell this for $150 separately, or on top of the whole thing (i.e. $1,250 all up)
