Which detergent for cleaning Dob mirror?

My new to me 16" Lightbridge mirror is a little dirty including a slug trail across the surface.
What kind of dishwashing detergent or other soap are people using for cleaning your mirrors?

Thanks Scott - I'm not sure that brand is available in Oz but I'll look for it.

After I posted that I got to thinking about that too. It is a "high quality" one known for its grease cutting power. I am certain that there is something similar in Oz...to me the important point was more the limited amount needed.

Here in the states a new class of dishwashing soap has come out that contains hand lotion...I would not use that kind for concerns of films or residues.

Judging by the lack of response from over here there must be a lot of dirty mirrors in Oz . I've got the distilled water, got the nailbrush, just need the detergent brand and I'm ready to go.......

I think I used just some generic liquid detergent, but just soap based and with not much in the way of added scent. I didn't have any distilled water and rinsed with warm water, drained and patted the few remaining drops with a clean tea towel.

Tony the real " Sunlight soap " dish washing liquid . It is one of a few that does not contain " SALT ! " in its make up , thats why it is easy on your hands .
Salt leaves tiny marks that are impossible to get rid of .

Tony cheap dish washing liquids eg no name brand often don't have all the extra additives perfumes, anything will do. As long as its kept wet, dry-ness leads to abrasive/scratching. I find generic windex great, with a damp fine cloth or crux, apply liberally & wash off with water

I have often heard of salt being added to dish washing liquids as a deterrent to using it on glass, however in liquid form salt does not normally exist as a crystal but dissociates to ions Na & Cl, which are below nano particle size..ordinary water which isn't Deionised will also contain salt, no big deal
There are other salts of course, but most behave similarly

The ingredient you want to avoid is lanolin, which is often used in dishwashing liquids to keep hands soft. Laundry detergent is fairly safe to use as well.
cheers,
Andrew

Unscented Morning Fresh. Make sure you thoroughly flush with distilled water at the end.

Cheers,

Very good - thanks everyone. When the pollen clouds stop in a few weeks I'll give it a clean.
