Jupiter Oct 27UT -- from Adelaide for comparison

Mainly for comparison, I'm posting an image captured from Adelaide around the same time of Shiraz's (Ray) magnificent image today from Ardrossan.

I'm sure there is a gap in our processing technique, and the dispersion corrector helps with the colour balance, but in the end I'm thinking this highlights mainly the difference in seeing. We are probably only about 100km apart as the crow flies!

I've seen the same difference in seeing with as little as a 15KM separation.

Still not a bad result.

that is an impressive demonstration of variable seeing Ivan - thanks for posting.
I don't do anything fancy with processing, so suggest that the difference is solely the seeing. regards Ray

OK, after looking through all of the videos this was the best of the session.

Luckily, even though I didn't think the seeing would support it, I had a late go with the 3x barlow.
