Bintel's got some: the televue ones, very expensive, and some generic ones in 35 and 50mm lengths, also a bit expensive for what they are, but I guess they are not a high demand item.

TeleVue has 2" and 3" extension tubes at Bintel as already said, William Optics also has a 2" tube, Lumicon in the US has a number of different sizes as well, you might also want to have a look on the Scopestuff site as well.

What about a local engineer making one for you? I know 2" exhaust tubing fits a 2" focuser with a light skim taken off with a lathe.

Just a thought.

Yep, that would be cheaper than getting one made for sure.

Whatever happened to using trusty PVC tubing. I find heaps of astronomical uses for it

and you can cut it to whatever length you want.

Do the Bintel generic extenders have brass compression rings?

Ta,

Hi Brian,
Yes mine does - works fine - there is only one thumbscrew.
Also the "insertion neck" has a recessed groove and an internal thread.

Chris.

Cool the Bintel ones seem to be as good as any, with a brass compression ring and the price is better than what I have seen on OS sites

Thanks.

I bought one of these recently and it works perfectly. I put an old Type 2 12mm Nagler in it in a JMI reverse crayford focuser. Works a treat!
