Note how drawtube on the right looks damaged. It looks like that because it
is damaged by steel bearings having essentially single point contact onto softer aluminium drawtube. And that one is from a well respected
Moonlite. You can find more examples on the web about this.
The tube on the left
won't suffer from such mishaps. There is a nice, flat and wide section that has been milled out for bearings to maintain full contact at all times even when wick is turned to 11 for very heavy loads.
Make no mistake - this focuser is well designed, very well made and quite a bargain at $150 (including postage)
