November Solar Eclipse

Well I am sick in bed with a terrible cold - my head felt like it was going to explode from sinus pressure earlier - yuk!
But I am using the time well to plan my November Solar Eclipse - not a total - but from Brisbane - a partial.
I am surprised how quickly it will be over (especially after the 6 + hour Venus transit).

My main challenge will be finding a site with a great eastern view - begins at 5.56am - I will have to do some site inspections a few days prior to ensure I do not miss it - we are lucky (unlucky) here in Brisbane at this time of year, the Sun is up well before acceptances!

I plan to do Ha full disc shots with the LS60 and DMK51 and put together a poster of the event.

And we do not have to wait too long to the next one!

Anyone else having a look?

I am considering my Brisbane viewing location options as well.

At the moment I have the following on the short list:
  • Mt Mee (looking over the coast hinterland)
  • Mt Coot-tha Lookout (easy access and an excellent view to the East)
  • Redcliffe waterfront (looking over the water)
  • Wynnum waterfront (looking over the water)

Hi Stu - I have been out Manly, Lota way in the past to view Lovejoy. Mt Coot-tha is closer but with a short event I will have little time for 'guests'.
I also did GJ Walter Park at Cleveland. PM me when you decide, we could meet.

I might be a little north of brisbane that week I can't decide where to
have a look from , having observed from right on the coast for many years and having seen how weird seeing can get around dawn and dusk with the temp differances (land/water)at times,I'll probably get somewhere well away from the coast.
