Two nifty fifty wide fields.

Hi,

Nice night Tuesday night, so a couple of wide fields from the nifty fifty seemed the go.

I centered my first image on NGC 6188 in Ara, certainly a rich region of the Milky way. 5 minute subs, a total of 1 hour at f/4.

I'm really pleased with the second image of the LMC, the nifty fifty worked a treat. I did crop the image to take out some of the sky glow from Adelaide, must have been a bit of dust or cloud bringing up the light pollution from down south.

6 - 8 and 15 minute subs, a total of 1 hour 7 minutes at f/4.

I must say the canon 1100D is handling the noise quite well with these longer subs.

Cheers,

Justin.

Here's the full frame you wanted, as it came out of DSS a jpg though.

Thanks jjj!

Actually your the reason I purchased a nifty fifty, I think it was an image of Crux you posted earlier this year.
Just had to have one after seeing your image.

Cheers,

Justin.

Must admit I've never heard of a nifty fifty but the results speak for themselves. Nice work Justin.

Thanks Ross and Steve!

Yes it's a lot better than the standard kit lenses that came with the Canon 1100D.

Cheers,

Justin.
