M42 Orion single frame

M42 Orion single frame

Just before packing it at 2am last night I decided to get a first time colour shot of Orion with my reasonably new QHY10C OSC to determine how many panels I would need to fit it all in at F10/10inch instead of F5 with my old 6 inch newt. Took a 300sec/-30C single frame, no dark/flats/bias for a reference photo and one of the running man nebula. Wow colour everywhere! Think I'll need 3X3 to do Orion properly although I could use a reducer but where's the fun in that. Processed them in Nebulosity and cleaned up in Photoshop and liked the Orion one so much I decided to share it. Need a bunch more frames to clean up the noise and go deeper and definitely better guiding and focus but summer and Orion are coming folks!
Cheers
Stephen

Nice for a quick go
From what I read Orion can be very difficult trying to balance the trapesium (probly spelt that wrong) with the nebulousity
