You know when you get a new item.....

Those who were at astrofest this year may remember what happened after a new scope was purchased on site….we had a bit of a stormy scare…..

Well I have just had a triple whammy delivered and right on cue we have just had another storm . Uncanny isn’t it…….but it is not my fault…..Honest.?

All I had delivered was a new Manfrotto 504HD Head with 546B 2-Stage Aluminum Tripod , a canon 650D body and spare battery and a Losmandy polar scope. From three separate sources, all delivered within hours of each other…..in a thunderstorm…Sorry Al

you will love the Losmandy polar scope as it really is a total gem. When I used my mount I. The field it took a few seconds literally yo polar align good enough to autoguide with. Exceptionally clear and easy to use. Well done and I hope you enjoy all the new toys.

Thanks Allan. I can say that manfrotto tripod is a very nice piece of work!!! there is room enough in the bag to have the Starlapse packed in padded bags as well as the tripod. the 650D is very light and will work well with the 50mm lens or the 10mm and the 60D with the 200mm. i might just see if i can borrow a 400MM L lens just for Cairns

Well my new scope plus mount should arrive next week so I apologise in advance for the terrible weather that will plague the Sydney area for the next month or so ;-)

I know the feeling, I bought a couple of additional solar panels and controller to expand my capacity at the shack. Decided to test the panel/controller combo today, the clouds came in within minutes of getting set up.
