I must be tired. It took me ages to figure out what the sky glow was that was plaguing my observing. City lights reflecting off thin upper level cloud? Then I sat back and watched as the bands zipped back and forth across the sky, a cross between curtains and horizontal search lights. I'd been half expecting an aurora since I first spotted that sun spot. Well, I guess now its here.
strange not one indicator would suggest anything of consequence should of happened/been visible - the Bz did go to 2 south there - that is about it? interesting!
