Warm Sunset at Cape Leveque

We had arrived at Cape Leveque mid-afternoon, with just enough time to take our bags to our tents and head down to Western Beach for sunset. As soon as we stepped onto the beach we were blown away by the red rock cliffs, the white sand and the blue water.

We made our way up the beach, stopping along the way when a formation in the cliffs caught our eye.

The colours of the rocks and the sky changed over the next hour or two as the Sun set – it was amazing to watch it go from bright orange through to red as the sun set over the Indian Ocean.

For the last shot (taken earlier before sunset) I had raced out in front of the group as we walked up the beach to try and get a clear path ahead when I was taking photos. This one is looking back towards where we came from, as the other photographers were making their way up the beach.

Every time I process these Cape Leveque photos, I’m reminded how incredibly stunning the whole area is. I have such fond memories of our 2 days and nights at Cape Leveque and just hope I get the opportunity to revisit it again one day.
