Just glimpsing aurora australis 15/7/12 from Victoria

Taken from Flinders VIC looking over Bass Straight towards Tassie, there was a small amount of auroral sky glow directly due south past the clouds.

Unfortunately, the aurora didn't come further north and then the clouds closed in.

canon eos 600d, f3.5, 20 sec, iso 3200

cheers

Lucky you Russell, and well done. The pink/red colours probably show up better in your Flickr site.

I have one question. On that photos, where I found the Aurora Australis, it is red, orange and brown (and other sush colours). But the Borealis one is usually green. Is it true? Have you ever seen green Aurora Australis.
Excuse me.
