Cable Beach Camel Train

Our Kimberley adventure started at Broome, and on the first afternoon we headed to Cable Beach for the sunset and the camel trains.

There were three camel trains running at once. I wouldn’t have thought there’d be enough business to keep them busy but they seemed to always have people on or around them.

Our photography group waited patiently as the camel trains walked up the beach for a few hundred metres, before turning around and walking back along closer to the water, where we were waiting – hoping to get the reflections and the sunset and all the ingredients to make a great shot.

Out of all the shots, these two are my favourites. I prefer the first one for the balance in composition, but I do love the colours of the second one with the blue reflecting off the sand.

cable beach

Sitting here in cold and snowy Tassie, it makes me want to sigh with envy! Good on you and a totally perfect shot. As others have said, Nat Geo or Australian Tourist Board even. Cheers

(puts another log on the fire to defrost the unhappy camel!!)
