Winters day along the Great Ocean Road

Hi all, i took a drive along the Great Ocean Road on Sunday afternoon to see if i could get a few happy snaps of the coastline.

I managed a few shots of the ocean, and captured the movement in the water i have been trying to get for some time.

I took this pic in the fading light of dusk, ISO 100 f/7.1
30 seconds with the 10-22mm @ 12mm.

I have a few more that i am processing and will post them when they are done.

Very nice shots Trevor! Makes me feel cold just looking at them (I assure you I am inside and quite cosy! ).

It's one thing to take a sharp shot, something else again to take a sharp, well composed shot... but it is really something to be able to take photo that conveys a feeling / emotion / mood. These images have a great "feeling" of winter on the coast.

btw Trev, did you use a blue filter, or was the colour tint introduced during post processing?

Thanks RB, yes the 10-22 has its place on the 350 most times when i am out with it, it's a great lens.

Mike, the color is natural, as with a completely overcast sky, a general blue cast is obtained especially on water or in the mountains, as outdoor shadows are nearly always blue. I read that somewhere
I only did slight adjustment in pscs2, i need to use an 81a light balancing filter to reduce the blueish hue.

This is another image from yesterday, 350d 10-22mm @10mm f/22 3.2 seconds ISO800.

Converted and desaturated in RawShooterEssentials, i kind of like the black and white look.

Very nice Trev! Glad to see someone else using RawShooter.. it's a great program. Pixmantec have just been bought by Adobe, so I don't know if they're still selling RawShooterPremium anymore as teh technology is going into a new Adobe product "LightRoom" in the future.

RawShooterPremium is twice as good as RawShooterEssentials and worth getting if you still can. Can crop, rotate, adjust curves and colour, etc.
