Would my wife likely kill me?

We are heading to New Zealand at the end of the year and there is the thought of updating my canon 400d. How would I go if I got the 60Da to take happy holiday shots. Would there be a noticable difference??

Mark

Lol doubt she would ever know once ya got a clip in filter or even the IR cut filter that protects the lens will work. The only issue would be the recipte and her thinking your an idot that got ripped off on a 60D bahaha

Easy Mark, just get her to try out the new camera, pointing out the new features as she gets herself familiarized with the new toy (get the store to whack on a premium piece of glass before hand).
When it's all done, get her to hand back the camera.
Then go home and don't mention it for a couple of days. On day three or so, get her to take some photos with the 400d, but still say nothing.
On day six or seven, casually leave some catelogues from Teds or JB Hi Fi on the kitchen table. When she takes interest in the camera section, casually ask "so what do u think of that canon you tried out the other day?"
Well, you can always try
Bo

This. Just incorporate it into your kit and make sure she doesn't see two of them anywhere.

Mark you know the answer already. You've thought about the idea ..... that's reason enough for you to be planning your funeral.

Buy her a copy of 50 Shades of Grey... If your wife's anything like mine, I'm pretty sure the house could burn down and she wouldn't notice... And if she does notice; Sequels...

Mark,
I would suggest that your wife already knew your intentions to buy a new camera before you even did. Tread carefully friend, it might just cost you double.

Involve her in the process and joy of imaging! My wife has agreed this year to take over all the processing of my images. I get to stand outside in the cold... she gets to sit at the computer inside all warm. Both of us are happy... and I scored AstroArt 5.0 (and soon Pixinsight when the trial runs out and we buy it) since she "needed" them to do a good job!

Just go for it!!!!!
You know you'll pay for it later anyhow, so it may as well be something really good to take the fall for.

It may be just as well if you put a deposit on a casket at the same time.
If it was me, I'd notice as soon as you opened the front door - have you any idea how guilty boys look when they've been devious?

If your wife is anything like me, she'd look at you and know, then she's going to start looking through the shoe catalogues, or if she's really like me, the electronics magazines.... open your mouth and you will need the casket.
