Captured at 10 Chain Hill after heavy cloud cover for most of the night.

3 hours total 1hr each RGB.

WO FLT110 with Moravian G2- 8300 ccd, darks + flats applied, processed in Photoshop CS3.

Had to wait 7 hours for the clouds to clear, but it was worth the wait.

Seeing was a bit ordinary might be a bit soft, not sure?

Comments welcome

It's an interesting FOV Geoff. Nicely done.

The weather has been very unpredictable this weekend. Every time I set things up it clouds over and by the time I'm all packed up it clears again.

Good to see a result from last night, Geoff! It does look a little soft to me. My subs don't look too bad but you were pointing lower than me, so it could easily be atmospherically induced.

You've got to wonder how the clouds know we're outside

A big Low out to the SE (ocean) throwing moist air up the coast seems to be one of the hardest situations for the computer models to accurately predict. I was thinking of the 10Chain crowd last night - had set up in the backyard and it never looked a goer for me.

Geoff,

Nice image despite the conditions!

I setup my scope yesterday afternoon only to have to pull everything down as it started to rain just before dinner. Went outside just before bedtime and it was clear, clear, clear!!! I'm sure it will be clear tonight because I have a parent-teacher meeting to go to. Tuesday I'm free so it will be cloudy. Wednesday the other son's music concert is on so it will be clear....Thursday, son's soccer practice so clear, and then by Friday the Moon will be nice and bright!!! It's enough to send you crazy...

Cheers,
Mario
