Electric focuser for Meade 10" SCT ACF

Hi,

Any suggestions for adding this to the scope, to be able to control with a hand controller when i'm outside and the 'puter when inside?

Mount is an EQ6.

Thanks for your help.

Richard

Hi Richard
Did you get the motor focuser wth the ACF?
or are you planning on buying one?
I have the Meade one that comes with the scope
But I must admit that I use a 2" William Optics focuser instead

Thanks Max, I just have the manual focus knob with a Tejax digital position indicator/counter attached, I was looking at this as an "over the knob" focuser:

(PCFC) JMI PC Focus Control (PCFC) and JMI MOTOFOCUS for Meade Cassegrain with Hexagonal Knob (MFMH)

So it sounds like the 2" William Optics focuser is a manual device that is mounted on the visual back, can you please provide more info on how this works, it's all very new?

Thanks again.

Richard

I would purchase electric crayford focuser. Much better than other solution as mirror can stay locked.

It bolts onto visual back. You get rough focus with existing meade focus knob then fine focus with electric crayford.

you can see one on back of LX200R, is same as ACF.

The Meade #1209 Zero Shift electronic Crayford will fit your scope.
Just watch the rear cell clearance to the fork base when adding cameras etc

It is on an EQ6 so no fork clearance issues.
