Centaurus A Galaxy (NGC 5128)

Probably posting this one a little early...would like to get more exposures and spend some more time processing but here it is.

10 x 4 minute Exposures ISO 800 autoguided

Equipment:
20DA on C11 fl approx 1700mm
Autoguide with St402 on the ED80
UHC-S filter used

Calibrated with ImagesPlus 2.75 and finished in PhotoshopCS

Very happy with the result.

Tony(Itchy)....this one I even lowered the red bias.?????

Comments like usual welcomed.

Tony

Stunning Tony. Well done. Your image really brings out the 3D apperance of the dark band. Nice job. Not evan a burnt out core to be critical about

Thanks Master Robby.

I'm still droolling over your Booger galaxy (NGC 4945) you posted.

I like criticism...and this should be taken as part of the learning curve which has tought me alot so far.

Man that's a stunner, well done Tony.
Did you take flats on this?
I think I can see a slight donut on the lower left of centre.

But that doesn't take away from the fact that it's a great shot mate.

Well done.

yep, nothing wrong with that shot. 40 minutes total is a good amount of imaging time.

I should point out its a great result for the UHCS filter too, I only thought it was useful for nebulae imaging, but this shows otherwise.

Totaly agree Scott.

I had a go on the same target without the filter and at F10 which I have not done for a while.

For a start even at F10 I could only do 2 minute exposures instead of My 4 minutes I could do at F6 with the filter...lets just say I am not going to post the images as they didn't turn out anywhere near aswell as with the filter.

What the hell...it's good for comparison....one is at F10 with no filter..the other is my original at F6 with the UHC filter....I know which one I prefer.

Both with similar total exposure times aswell.

Nice Work Tony

PS I am actually in Melbourne at the moment and I can't do any imaging my self. Typical, now that the moon is back, I can't get to my gear.

I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on you guys and enjoy your images

Cheers
