M16 Mass Luminance
Just thought I'd combine everything from my recent M16 data into a single mass luminance ie the Ha OIII SII and RGB all sandwiched together and I think the outcome looks ok..so meeah, thought I'd post it

Man there's some serious nebulosity going on in this image!!
The coat hanger/ loop looks like three dimensional time tunnel, that would be four dimensions I suppose.

An amazing photo Mike.
The amount and quality of nebulosity and detail is so impressive.
Great composition and I love the B&W.

That looks absolutely fantastic Mike, and the FOV is so large that one almost have to scan around looking for the pillars  Will you combine this luminance with the colour data?

Well I have done an RGB like rendition already so haven't actually tried with this new Lum specifically...hmmm? maybe I should  not sure if there would be much difference though...another repro! Yay! .......

Hi Mike,
that is a wonderful image, its great to pan around and see the detail, the scope and camera you use gives excellent results
also b&w gives a very clear look at the detail without being distracted by colour

That's deep Mike, excellent, and well, certainly WIDE. Dunno about the pillars close in though, there's an urge to zoom extra on that view , not entirely satisfactory IMO, but given the WW aspect of the original pic, that's an awesome effort.

Thanks so much Richard, without a permanent setup and a somewhat complicated imaging rig, not a lot of imaging gets done soooo I do get bored between sessions Tinkering with previous data helps pass the time. This Sun night looks good and I have permission from my employer, in advance, to take Mon off I need to

Hello Fred long time no hear   Well that is 100% res crop but yes the urge is there. I am confident if I get some good seeing that urge will be significantly reduced. We are moving back to Canberra to a rural location (hopefully) very soon and I am excited about the possibilities, here in Newie it is crap seeing virtually every night  ...Sunday will be another test..hopefully .

Your FOV is very impressive Mike. Pulling out a small centre section as you have done is a testament to your optics quality. The cropped section looks very detailed considering it's relative proportion to the whole fields size. About 1/25th perhaps, or a little smaller may be?
Hey, a repro is fun to do and cheaper than looking at new software or hardware!
