Mt Everest Photos

Hi everyone,

Attached you will find a link to my photo page on Flickr with 300 plus photos of a mountaineering expedition I have just returned from on Mt Pumori (7164m) in Nepal located next to Mt Everest.

The photos start with flying into Kathmandu, time in Kathmandu, flying into Lukla, following the Everest Base Camp trek and then ending up at Pumori Base Camp, followed with climbing on the mountain, getting higher on the mountain, evecuating some injured climbers and then walking out.

As you will see, the mountains in Nepal are breathtaking!

Note:
- With over 300 photos, the main set will take time to load if you choose to view it as a SLIDE SHOW. A good alternative is to simply click on the first photo in the set and click on "more -> " in the film strip view .Although this is slower in going from image to image you will also view the descriptions click on "ALL SIZES" for a real close up - and as I said, with so many photos it takes time to go through them all!

They are awesome shots John !
It takes me back to a flight I did around Mt Cook in NZ, glaciers peering of the mountain everywhere you look.
it will be etched in my memory forever.
Must have been a challenging expedition for you

Wow simply awesome , thanks very much for sharing what a great experience it was for you.Stunning picks of the jorney in and out and what a sight of Everest/Lhotse/Nupste/western CVM and the Khumbu icefall from Pumori , gives a superb perspective of how challenging the terrain of Nepal/Himalaya is

thanks again, i will be coming back again and again to these. I watched the 50th anniversary of everest and i have never seen the hillary step as it seems you get up at 11pm for the last stretch to the summit. the cameras always seem to be frozen until you get to that precarious knife edge up from the false summit to the real one!

Mt Everest is every bit as impressive as you would imagine the worlds tallest mountain to be. For me it was quite a spiritual experience.
