2012-07-05: AR11515 emitting a Flare M2.3 During and After

Hi fellows,

Amazing images of this very active region emitting a M2.3 flare. I was lucky to capture the max (first image) and end of the emission in high resolution.

Thanks for looking,

Fernando

Wow, thanks for the photographs, they are beautiful.
It is raining so much here it is nice to see the activity of the sun!

How do you get such great colour in your images?

Hi Fernando,

Wonderful detailed images.

I found this website (courtesy of an Australian SkyandTelescope article) which I think the H-alpha solar observers will find very useful. The images and movie loops are updated every minute.

The link is http://gong.nso.edu

RichardJ

Great stuff Fernando. Love the processing. Clouded out here and have been looking to the sky each day only to see more cloud. Well done on this image.

Awsome images Fernado. You have really captured the sun as the dynamic object that it is.

Dear Frieds,
Thank you very much for the kind comments and appreciation of my solar images. I really appreciated them all.

I am sure about it, Orestis. I've seen outstanding images produced by astrophotographers all over the world.

Karen: The gear I am using is:
Ha Filter: Daystar 0.4A ION Filter
Scope: Explore Scientific 127mm f/7.5
Focuser: 3" Feather Touch with FB-II Electronic Focusing System
PM: x4 making an EFL of f/30
Camera: DMK41AU02.AS
Mounting: EQ-6

Derek, Blaznee, Strongmanmike, Shahgazer, Matt Wastell, Nico13, Shiraz, JB80 Thank you very much for the comments.

Peter_4059: The interval between the images is 27m43s

Paul Haese: Thank you Paul !! I hope you get blue sky soon.

RichardJ: Thanks for the website link and information.

Poita: Thank you !! The color mapping is chosen to bring the best tonal contrast to the image trying, at the same time, to stick with some reality in terms of color. But the color pallet is totally random. Is something like a color pallet for narrow band imaging of deep space objects.

Thanks again for all the great comments and I am sorry the delay to reply. I have had some health problems that prevented me to do my regular stuff. Now I am getting better and ready for maderate activities.

Best Regards,

Fernando
