Nightscapes image forum
As per Greg's suggestion (obsidianphotos Greg) I think it would be great to have a Nightscapes (or similarly named) imaging forum along with the existing Solar System, Deep Sky and Terrestrial.

Not a bad idea, people never know whether to put them in deep space or terrestrial, or solar system if it's a conjunction of moon and planets.
Let me see what I can do.
It's always tough when thinking about adding extra sub-forums. We don't want so many sub-forums it becomes cumbersome to browse. Also, if there's not enough activity in the forum, it can look very lonely when there's only 1 or 2 threads a week.

Just post them in the deep space section as people have been doing for years.
They get the most exposure in that forum. I don't know if there's that many images posted to justify another sub-forum?
Don't want this place turning into a mess like Cloudy Nights!

I like the idea of its own forum as they are a unique type of imaging with its own skills and processing approaches.
A subforum validates it as its own type of photography.

(I only just saw this thread)

Yes Please!
While I certainly don't want to see sub forums here there and everywhere, I think (and of course I am very biased here) another image section could be justified with widefield nightscapes, startrails and even timelapse movies becoming increasingly popular. I have never really felt comfortable posting mine in any of the current image categories. Does my 30 second fixed tripod shot encompassing dozens of constellations deserve to be or belong next to someones eight hour deep sky masterpiece? Do those couple of bright pixels in the corner of a frame belong next to a gorgeous capture of the Great Red Spot traversing across the face of Jupiter? I have numerous images which could belong in all three categories at once.
Cheers
Greg
